Sage Capital was co-founded by Wesley M. Jones and John W. Lemkemeier, bringing together a track record of experience and success in mergers, finance and management.
Sage Capital is supported by the investing partners comprising the Sage Capital Investors Roundtable III. All individuals, our investing partners provide a wealth of experience and judgment, in addition to capital, in connection with Sage Capital’s investments (see Investors).
Wes Jones worked for over twenty years in the investment banking industry, starting as an associate in the merger group of Goldman Sachs and advancing to senior positions in mergers, corporate finance and product development as a managing director of The First Boston Corporation (now Credit Suisse), The Blackstone Group and Bear Stearns. After returning to his hometown of Saint Louis, he served as an adjunct professor of finance at the Olin School of Business at Washington University and co-founded Sage Capital in 2004.
Wes is a graduate of Amherst College and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He currently serves on the boards of Store Supply Warehouse, K. Hall Studio, DIT MCO International, Bulk Tank Holdings, Mohawk Lifts, Janet McAfee Inc., the City of Ladue Non-Uniformed Employees Pension Plan, the Danforth Leadership Council, BioSTL, and Washington University’s Center for Accounting and Finance Research.
Wes is married to Nancy Ylvisaker and has two children.

Prior to co-founding Sage Capital, John Lemkemeier was president of Contec, Inc., a manufacturer of consumable products used in clean rooms and other critical manufacturing environments. He began his career as a mergers and acquisitions attorney at Bryan Cave.
John serves on the boards of Store Supply Warehouse, K Hall Studio, Bulk Tank Holdings, Check Corporation and Mohawk Lifts. He is also on the board of directors at the Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital, the Muny and the Opportunity Trust. Previously he served on the boards of Randall Manufacturing and Revenue Cycle Partners Holdings, The Saint Louis Brewery, and the boards of trustees for John Burroughs School and Community School (president).
John is married to Mary Lemkemeier and has three children.

Spencer Finney joined Sage Capital in July of 2005. Prior to joining Sage Capital, Spencer worked for The Northern Trust Company, providing retirement plan administration and valuation for large corporations.
Spencer served on the board of the Saint Louis Brewery, is the chairman of the board of trustees of Villa Duchense and Oak Hill School and is a member of the advisory council of Mission St. Louis. He is a graduate of The Olin School of Business at Washington University and the University of Richmond.
Spencer is married to Jodie Finney and has four daughters.

Anna Boll joined Sage Capital in June 2019. Anna has a Masters of Science in Finance and a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Indiana University.
Anna is originally from South Bend, Indiana.
Max Mehaffy joined Sage Capital in June 2019. Max has a Masters of Science in Finance and a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis. At Washington University, Max was a member of the Varsity Football Team and interned at WILsquare Capital and EyeCare Partners.
Max is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas.
